Sinéad Dunleavy – Acupuncture and Reflexology
Sinéad is a graduate of Lansdowne College of Acupuncture in Dublin where she studied under Dr. Vincent Carroll. Sinéad was also awarded her Licentiate Diploma at the Chengdu University of Chinese Medicine, China, one of the four earliest established TCM universities in China. She studied and worked with eminent Chinese doctors at the TCM Hospital of Sichuan Province, which is noted for high-quality medical services with strong traditional characteristics. She is also a Chinese Medical herbalist, having studied in the Acupuncture Foundation of Ireland with prominent Chinese doctors, Professor Jin Huide, Dr Jidong Wu and Dr Meng Fanyi.
Sinéad is a registered member of the Acupuncture Foundation Professional Association (AFPA), the oldest and largest professional body for practitioners of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Ireland, and of the European Traditional Chinese Medicine Association (ECTMA). As such, she is bound by a Code of Ethics and Practice strictly enforced by the AFPA. She is also a member of the Irish Reflexologist’s Institute.
Continuous professional development is vital and Sinéad regularly undertakes additional training with international experts across many fields in both Chinese Medicine and Reflexology. Areas of particular interest include pregnancy, fertility, stress management and digestive disorders.
Richard McDonald – Physical therapist
Richard studied physical therapy for over 4 years and graduated with a B.Sc degree in Applied health science and physical therapy, from The Institute of Physical Therapy and Applied Science, and is a member of the Irish Association of Physical Therapists. He is currently studying a Masters in Sports Medicine (M.Sc SportsMed).
Richard treats all types of soft tissue injuries, including post operative injuries such as Knee ACL and shoulder dislocation, and is also certified in Dry Needling and Neuromuscular physical therapy as well as intergrated myofascial therapy.
Richard is also particularly interested in keeping people active, by educating people through rehabilitation to ensure that injury does not re-occur. Or education in pre-habilitation exercises, as a pre-emptive measure against injury occurrence.
A keen sportsman, Richard has experience of many sports injuries as well as day to day injuries both acute and chronic. He is currently looking after the St. Mary’s College RFC Under 20’s rugby squad in Templeogue Dublin, and Terenure RFC senior 1st XV squad and the schools senior cup team. Also works with Ballyboden GAA from time to time and has worked with the Kildare Senior hurling team.
Richard is also certified in Strength and Conditioning and Functional Movement Screening (FMS) from Setanta College where he gained his Level 1 in Olympic Weightlifting, and is a certifited level 1 Crossfit Coach (CF-L1) and coaches in Crossfit Navitas in Kimmage where he also runs his own clinic Premier Physical Therapy Clinic.
