Posture Correction at Harbour Clinic

Unfortunately in today’s world mst of us tend to be in one position for too long – seated or flexion. Computers and tv dominate our work and leisure time and one needs to be aware of the strain and damage we do to ourselves by not addressing this problem. A recent report indicated that not even 30 minutes exercise per day can undo the damage to our health by remaining seated and sedentary throughout our daily living.

At Harbour clinic, before any consultation begins your therapist will perform a complete postural analysis and explain the findings to you. Most of us are aware that our shoulders may be uneven, our head tilts to one side, leg length discrepancies, forward head posture but under estimate how damaging it can be to our body and joints. Spinal pain, headache, mood, blood pressure, pulse and lung capacity are among the functions most easily influenced by posture. Many symptoms including pain may be moderated or eliminated by improved posture.

One of the most common problems is forward head posture. Since we live in a forward facing world and the repetitive nature of our lifestyles have forced the body to adapt to a forward head posture. The result can often be muscle fatigue and an aching neck and shoulders.
